Cerium oxide stabilized zirconia ceramics, abbreviated as Ce-TZP. Cerium oxide is used as a stabilizer, which can produce the densest zirconia ceramics with a density of 6.2 G/CM3. Due to its good material wear resistance and high density, it is mainly used to develop grinding media, especially for grinding highly viscous compounds and paints. Zirconia toughened ceramics prepared with cerium oxide as a stabilizer. Usually the molar fraction of cerium oxide doping is between 8% and 16%. Its preparation process and toughening mechanism are basically the same as those of yttria stabilized zirconia ceramics. It has a strong resistance to hydrothermal aging and its application range is similar to that of yttria stabilized zirconia ceramics.
